Tucson roads in 2026
Where Tucson windshields pick up chips
Most of the cracked glass we see in Tucson began as a stone strike on the interstate. ADOT is now in the middle of widening I-10 from Kino Parkway to Alvernon Way, including a new Country Club Road interchange. It calls the job the largest highway build in Southern Arizona history, and work is planned through 2028. The Palo Verde Road interchange closed for good in August 2026 as part of it. Lane shifts and construction trucks mean loose rock on the pavement for a while yet.
Up north, ADOT finished widening I-10 between Ina and Ruthrauff in June 2026, yet Marana and northwest drivers still share it with heavy freight. South of town, I-19 and Sahuarita Road carry mine and gravel traffic past Sahuarita and Green Valley. The windshield replacement page goes road by road.
Your appointment
How a Tucson install goes, start to finish
Glass ordered for your VIN
Cameras, rain sensors, a heated wiper strip or a heads-up display each call for a different windshield. Your VIN tells us which one, so the right part arrives with the technician.
A spot with shade
Most Tucson homes have a carport, and it is the best place for the job: out of the sun and out of the rain if an afternoon storm builds. A garage or covered space at work does the same.
The swap
The broken windshield is cut out, the pinch weld is cleaned and primed, and the new glass goes into a fresh bead of urethane. Plan on 30 to 45 minutes for this part on most cars.
Camera set to spec
Cars with a forward camera get it calibrated in the same visit where the procedure can be done on site. If yours needs something different, you hear that when you book. More on calibration.
Your drive-away time
Before leaving, the technician tells you when the car is safe to drive. Heat and humidity change how fast urethane sets, so that answer comes on the day.
Beyond the windshield
Door, back and roof glass in the same visit
Windshields are most of what we do. We also replace side windows, rear glass and sunroof panels.
- Door glass
Side window smashed
Tempered side glass bursts into cubes that hide in the door and the seat tracks. We fit the new window and vacuum out what we can reach.
- Back glass
Rear window
Sedan, SUV hatch or pickup back glass, with the defroster and any antenna lead connected again before we go.
- Sunroof
Sunroof or glass roof
Cracked sunroof panels and panoramic roof glass. Motors and tracks belong to a sunroof repair shop, and we tell you up front.
- ADAS
Forward camera calibration
Lane-keep, automatic braking and adaptive cruise rely on a camera that looks through the windshield. It is reset after new glass goes in.
Tucson heat
Why a small chip rarely stays small here
The National Weather Service counts 68 days a year at 100°F or above in Tucson on its 1991 to 2020 normals, and 2024 set a record with 112. Glass that sits in an open lot on one of those afternoons, then takes a blast from the air conditioning, is pulled in two directions at once. A chip near the edge of the windshield is usually the first place it gives.
Monsoon season adds wind, dust and sometimes hail between June 15 and September 30. If your windshield took a hit in one of those storms, send us a photo by text and we will tell you what we see.

Tucson windshield questions
Ask us anything else on our Tucson line, (520) 492-2800, or text a photo to (877) 350-5962.
What does a new windshield cost in Tucson?
It comes down to the exact glass your car was built with. A lane camera, a rain sensor, a heads-up display or a heated wiper strip all change the part. Give us the year, make and model, or the VIN, and you get a price for that glass before anything is scheduled. If your Arizona policy has full glass coverage, the cost to you is often $0 out of pocket once we have checked it.
Do you come to Marana, Vail and Green Valley, or only the city?
All three. Our Tucson listing covers the city and 19 communities around it, from Picture Rocks and Marana in the northwest to Corona de Tucson and Vail in the southeast and Sahuarita and Green Valley down I-19. The full list with ZIP codes is on the service area page.
Can you replace a windshield when a monsoon storm is due?
Under a carport or in a garage, usually yes. We will not set glass in the open in rain or blowing dust, so if your car is parked outside and a storm is heading your way, we call and you pick a new time.
Is there a Tucson phone number I can call?
Yes. Our Tucson line is (520) 492-2800, and it is for calls. Texts go to (877) 350-5962. Our (877) number, (877) 994-5277, is answered 24/7.
Do you repair windshield chips?
No. We replace windshields and do not repair chips. If a chip has spread into a crack, we can quote a new windshield.
